Almost 82 pence in every pound donated goes towards our emergency response and long-term development programmes, working together with people living in the most difficult situations to bring about lasting change to lives, livelihoods and communities.

Asma Begum (37) and her husband Abdul with their three daughters Lamia (18), Sadia (16) and Maria (5) and their grandmother Kulsum Begum (72) started CRAAIN in 2020. Asma Begum started as a lead farmer, received training and seeds. Before, she did agri activities but wasn’t very successful. She had received one ring composter from the local gov but no training on how to use it. As a lead farmer, she has supported 400 households in this area. She used to rely on her husband but is now totally reliable.

Humanitarian corridors urgently needed to prevent impending famine in Sudan

The warring parties in Sudan must immediately allow safe access corridors from neighbouring Chad and South Sudan to enable the UN and humanitarian organisations bring in urgent health and nutrition supplies, if a looming famine is to be prevented in the coming months, with the potential loss of hundreds of thousands of lives, Concern’s Country Director in Sudan warned today.

The warring parties in Sudan must immediately allow safe access corridors from neighbouring Chad and South Sudan to enable the UN and humanitarian organisations bring in urgent health and nutrition supplies, if a looming famine is to be prevented in the coming months, with the potential loss of hundreds of thousands of lives, Concern’s Country Director in Sudan warned today.

Bulengo camp, one of the newest camps in DRC, around 400 people with disabilities have organised a group and elected representatives. The camp is built on ground made of broken volcanic rocks, and heavy rains almost daily leave the ground muddy and wet, making it inhospitable and sometimes impassable for people using crutches or wheelchairs. They say they struggle to access the few services available, including the distribution of food and medical facilities.
